Sophia Vaillant is a pianist with a very rich career: after obtaining the Diplôme National d'Etudes Supérieures unanimously in the instrumental test, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon in the class of Pierre Pontier, she went to work at the Guildhall School in London with Paul Berkowitz, a student of Rudolf Serkin, before furthering her musical education, at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada and at Stony Brook University in New York. She has participated in master classes with great masters such as György Sebök, Bernard Greenhouse (cellist of the Beaux-Arts Trio), Jean-Claude Pennetier, Alexander Volkov (pianist of the Israel Piano Trio) and is the winner of several international competitions. Sophia has a very extensive piano repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary composers (with a particular preference for French composers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries). Passionate about tango music, she was the pianist of La Tipica Juan Cedrona and then created the group TamborTango, creating musical arrangements. In 2013, she joined the University of Paris VIII in Saint-Denis to pursue a doctorate in "performer-composer" in mixed music for piano and electronics, playing works by Luigi Nono, Jose-Manuel Lopez Lopez, Alain Bonard.She regularly performs all over the world, either in recitals or in chamber music with artists, Marie-Christine Barrault in "Notes et mots d'amour", a show conceived and created together around women creators, with Magali Léger, Jean-Philippe Courtis, Ami Flammer, Sona Khochafian, Pierre Strauch, Yvan Chiffoleau, Hervé Brisse, tangueros Cesar Stroscio and the Flores brothers, contemporary music ensembles Instant Donné, Atempo, Fa, at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Atempo Festival in Venezuela, Printemps de Bourges, Quartz, Opéra-Comique and New-Morning in Paris, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, USA... She has recorded several CDs, including the latest "Compositrices françaises d'hier et d'aujourd'hui", published by Indesen, which received excellent reviews: Grand Frisson 2022 by Audiophile-Magazine, 4 Diapasons, 4 étoiles Classica, 4 Croches Pizzicato... Nominated for the 2023 International Music Prize...

In addition, Sophia is the president of two associations: Thème et Variations in Picardy, whose purpose is to promote classical music in rural areas, and Femmes et Musique in Paris.
