The Rovinj Summer Festival, founded in 1996, is a recognized and recognizable classical music festival that, from season to season, organizes a diverse range of attractive and carefully thought-out musical projects in which numerous prominent domestic and foreign artists participate, who always provide new experiences. It was founded primarily as a succus of the experiences of the long-term work of mezzo-soprano Katja Markotić, guided by the example of related festivals and the support of fellow musicians and many acquaintances who are fans of classical music. Such a decision fell on fertile ground in the most beautiful city of Istria, Rovinj, where top classical concerts are held in attractive historical buildings. Therefore, the Rovinj festival, with guest appearances by world-renowned soloists, ensembles, chamber orchestras from Europe, Japan, Russia, Korea, the USA, Mexico and Australia, took on all the epithets of a relevant international chamber music festival.

The summer concert projects are supported by the City of Rovinj, the Tourist Board of the City of Rovinj and Maistra d.d., who recognized the importance of its cultural significance as well as its great contribution to enriching the tourist offer of the City of Rovinj as a destination.
